Outcome analysis of primary cemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty in elderly unstable intertrochanteric fractures during covid phase in Central India

Background: The incidence of inter-trochanteric fractures the femur is very high in elderly population. world-wide all hip around 402 per 100000 and Intertrochanteric fracture estimated to be 171 2019. All operative conditions were different during covid phase. We needed early ambulation our patients for a faster recovery avoid long stay hospitals. Methods: 30 with unstable intertrochanteric operated by bipolar hemiarthroplasty followed up at 2, 6, 10 16 weeks. Harris score FIM assessed. Results: Mean achieved was 87 weeks mean 78.9 indicating good functional outcomes. outcome excellent 23.4%, 63.3%, fair 10% poor 3.3% as HHS. Conclusions: This procedure offered pain free mobile mobilization, easy rehabilitation return level, when standard techniques used.
